National Dental Plan: Patient’s treatment plan has changed during the course of the treatment

If the change in treatment is less than the amount that was approved by Humm

There are two options

Option 1

• The practice can email Humm (operations@shophumm.com.au) and request a downwards adjustment on the balance owing

• Treat the situation as though the patient had made a cash transaction and refund the patient the remaining amount. Although the patient will still be financially committed with Humm.

Option 2

If the change in treatment is more than the amount that had been approved by Humm

• Practice explains the increase to the patient and offers them the opportunity to pay for the increase independently of the agreement. Therefore, no changes to the agreement and the patient’s repayments.

• Humm recommends the best option is to complete the current treatment/payment plan, and then process an application for the new/additional treatment
